Bubba'n'Stix A500 25th Anniversary: Level 3 2020 DLC (A fanfiction/art by a fan). Part 2.
However, if he turns back and retraces his steps, he will not reappear in the cave where he came across the little blue creatures but at the top of the level…
…where a good surprise awaits.
Notice the door. There are two lights above it, one is red, the other is green. Could it be what corresponds to the lights of the computer ?
So Bubba only needs to find another switch and the door surely will open. He drops into the tunnel in which he had arrived just a minute ago…
…and crawls his way to a further room.
As he was planning to stick Stix into the wall to climb, Bubba is sucked in a pipe to which he hadn’t paid attention.
He spews out a few meters on the left under the shape of a balloon and, surprise surprise, a friend is there waiting for him…
Trying again while being careful not to be sucked in by the pipe. Stix + wall triggers the release of two balloons… and a mattress.
Then it’s Waldo himself who comes and checks what’s going on.
He throws things at Bubba but one hit will make him lose balance and put him in an uncomfortable situation.
Bubba can now reach the higher platform and discover… another numbered switch !!! and a health aliennnn…
When jumping to take the path through the presses, Bubba only bumps his head.
No !
What !?!
No !
Back at the entrance.
We are going to have to skip a chunk of madness, until Bubba reaches that pipe again and manages to pick up the health alien and flip the switch:
Here.
And also, not fail to land on the platform after the pipe trip.
Bubba knocks out the little worker. That's not very communist of him.
And jumps left where bonuses await.
But of course things do no go as planned. The developers played Prince of Persia.
Bubba steps on a hidden pedal and involontarily shuts the door.
He has no other choice but to back track without picking these bonuses up.
After having knocked out the enemy again, Bubba comes across a new version of these little guys. Instead of a hammer, that one waves a drill around.
Bubba gives him his break all the same.
And flips what must be the second switch of the computer door.
Now, we’ll be careful not to…
…get swallowed by the pipe in order to be able to get the bonuses.
Bubba reappears where earlier he switched on number 6.
Number six is an annoying one in the original game:
Bubba easily passes the presses and drops into unknown territories,
admires another health bonus that he will not get,
And eventually lands where he was earlier. Except that the door is now open. Hurrey !
A button closes the door behind Bubba.
Our hero enters a strange room. The floor is a tank of lava. Thankfully there’s a footbridge on which he can jump and walk.
Beyond the room is a new cliff from which Bubba jumps happily and finds…
…a lever for the main balloon machine.
The lever activated, Bubba heads toward the path on the left, “triggering” an earthquake.
A blue alien wounds Bubba on his way down.
And another one.
The right path is blocked.
The left one isn’t.
Bubba flips the switch. Lava starts filling a small curvy tank. Then the switch goes back to its former position and the lava is carried away.
Combining the switch and Stix into the wall triggers an alarm but makes the lava flow continuous until an explosion is heard. Removing Stix from the wall stops the lava and Bubba now needs to jump above the tank.
The tube has exploded.
And Bubba can explore further.
He discovers a lava pit in which a crane plunges a bucket every thirty seconds or so.
It’s not hard to guess what Bubba has to do.
At the top of the ascension if he doesn’t move from the bucket, he’ll be dropped into a lava tank.
Also, trying to jump on the rock on the right doesn’t work. So, this is pretty much a dead end.
The obvious route is left.

Also.

After having hit the switch, Bubba jumps above the abyss and is back next to the “lava room.”
The doors suddenly shut down.
A pipe starts pouring lava inside the room.
As the level of lava rises, Buba gets… well, he gets burnt and that’s quickly one life less.
As soon as he reappears, our hero throws Stix in the door in front of him. First time encouragingly deforms the metal, second time Stix is stuck.
As, again, Lava is being poured inside the room, a trapdoor opens and drops a little keg in the burning liquid.
Bubba first uses it to avoid a second hose of lava and then to jump on a higher platform. The keg can dangerously move around just like woodboards in the original game.
Bubba breaks the grid of the ventilation system and plants Stix in the wall.
...and escapes.
And escapes.
He progresses inside the metal tunnel.
And reaches a secret room with a “transporter.”
Bubba is now back on the original route of the level, minus three lamp to switch.
